Juvederm Volbella®

expertinjectorBTN-before-after BTN-testimonials

Juvederm® Volbella™ is a relatively new hyaluronic acid filler. It is approved for treating the lips and fine lines. It has several advantages over other previous fillers.

  • It is thinner, more malleable and integrates well into the dermis (the skin support layer)
  • It does not absorb water as almost all other hyaluronic acid fillers (except Juvéderm® Vollure™ and Voluma™) do, reducing the risk of puffiness
  • It has less risk of producing a blue tint when injected into superficial lines (the Tyndall effect)
  • It last an average of 12 months and may last longer outside the lips.

It is specifically better for:

  • Filling fine lines around the lips, eyes and elsewhere,
  • Filling the lips when softness is essential.

It is specifically better for:

  • Filling fine lines around the lips, eyes and elsewhere,
  • Filling the lips when softness is essential.

Because of its fine consistency and malleability, it is ideal for fine lines anywhere. This is especially true around the eyes where any water absorption can cause problems. It is also excellent in achieving finesse in the lip shape and contour and can add a silky sheen to the lips. These are, in fact, the problems for which we use it to rejuvenate the face using Today’s Liquid Lift, preferring other products to provide major fill of the lips and to correct heavier folds. Any overfill can be corrected using hyaluronidase.
Juvederm® Volbella™ is a hyaluronic acid, a natural precursor to the support layer of the skin and soft tissues found throughout the body. It is approved by the FDA.
We inject Juvederm® Volbella™ in a Spa setting using numbing when reasonable, especially around the lips. This makes the injection as painless as we can. You can return to normal activities immediately. The only risk of allergy is in those people with multiple allergies and a history of anaphylaxis. The most common problem is mild bruising that can last a few days. We try to reduce this by encouraging you to stop taking aspirin, Aleve, Advil, other anti-inflammatory medicines or anticoagulants, recommending your use of Arnica Montana and Bromelain (over the counter products, though we can provide them) or Pineapple juice peri-injection and by using a very small blunt cannula where possible. If you do bruise, we can guide you in camouflage techniques using Jane Iredale® Mineral Make Up so you never have any down time.
