For more severe sun damage, including wrinkling and pigmentary changes, the Obagi Nu-Derm Skin Health Restoration System®, after more than 30 years, is still the absolutely best system available by a proven multiple of 2-3 times.

It’s not about skincare; it’s about skin health. While the above is designed as a system, Obagi® also makes a number of products that can be added to other basic skin care, such as Vitamin-C and one of the best sunblocks on the market, where restoration is not needed, and a system for people with acne.
Their sunblock, an excellent UVA and UVB block that is water resistant and needs reapplication only if washed or rubbed off, though a normal part of the Suzan Obagi and Nu-Derm systems, is one of the best available for those not using either system.
Also normally recommended with the Obagi Nu-Derm and Suzan Obagi systems, Vitamin-C Serum and ELASTIderm®. The Vitamin-C helps restore the skin’s pH and normal protective barrier, acts as an antioxidant, reduces some spots and stabilizes the cell membrane. The ELASTIderm® converts some of the collagen created by the retinol or tretinoin (Retin-A) as part of the Suzan Obagi® Nu-Derm systems into elastic tissue to help reduce and prevent further wrinkles. One of the ELASTIderm® formulations can even hide under eye wrinkles temporarily.
If you need just basic skincare and not rejuvenation, Obagi®’s alpha hydroxyl cleanser to reduce the dead cell build-up, their Vitamin-C Serum to restore the skin’s normal protective barrier and pH and their sunblock are all you need, though the Suzan Obagi line improves on the basics.
For those with acne, Obagi® makes the CLENZIderm M.D. ™ system. This system contains all you normally need to treat acne, a cleanser with salicylic acid to remove the dead cells obstructing the pores and micronized Benzoyl Peroxide to kill the bacteria causing the breakouts. For some patients with severe acne we occasionally add tretinoin (the generic of Retin-A made by Obagi®).
